Day 13 Laundry day, tire rotation and Mexican Roast Chicken.

3/20 - Day 13 Laundry day, tire rotation and Mexican Roast Chicken.

Thunderstorms and a lot of rain were forecast for Austin today and tomorrow's forecast is also iffy rain wise. They hit the nail on the head for today, but I'm hoping they're wrong about tomorrow.

I have an 11 a.m. tee time for Falconhead Golf Course and then a 1:12 tee time on Sunday for Avery Ranch. IF it is raining tomorrow I will still play (if they allow carts) and Sunday's weather looks to be better, especially for the later tee time I made.

Today I did laundry and had my tires rotated. I was GPS(ing) my way toward the laundry when I saw the tire place on the right side of the road. They were able to get me right in and about forty minutes later I was just a short drive away from the laundromat. Laundry wasn't as big a chore as I thought it might be and I started reading my Stephen King novel ("Elevation", at only 145 pages it is actually a short story, particularly for Stephen King!) and now I'm probably going to finish it when I'm done writing this post.

It rained a little off and on today until about 6 p.m. and then it came down in buckets! It was a good day NOT to have played golf.

I WISH I had written down the name of place where I bought the roast chicken. It was in a mall area and neighbors with some national chains. I will always try the local independent places before chains,  EXCEPT FOR Dutch Brothers Coffee (large Americano espresso, hot, black!), my personal favorite. McDonalds is my backup coffee and their espresso is good at a great low price. The ONLY national food chain I am lured to is Popeye's because I love the spicy, Tobasco marinated chicken they serve. ANYWAY,  I can't remember the name of the place & it had to be just about the last place I paid cash for anything.

Cash is the filthiest thing any of us will handle under normal circumstances. Under today's conditions, don't handle it if you don't have to and don't make the cashiers handle it either. A LOT of places have gone credit cards only and that may well become the norm when this health crisis is over.

I have tried several times along my route to find some wipes, or some rubbing alcohol (to make my own) and today I tried to find some Everclear for the same purpose, but to no avail. I have a large container of wipes, but doubt they will last the whole trip. As of this moment, I am hopeful, yet doubtful I will be able to keep going. EVERY TIME I get back in the car I rub down my hands, the door handle and steering wheel to (hopefully) disinfect them. I have started using the same wipe two or three times (I keep it in a baggie so it will retain its moisture!) before tossing it as I am not sure when I will be able to get more.

Good Day friends!
