Rating the golf courses I played
Trip golf courses played in order of MY preference:
Recommended golf courses
5 Yocha DeHe (Brooks, CA) beautiful, great layout, many hazards, but fair! A RARE 5 from me!
4.5 Sand Creek Station (Newton, KS) This is an interesting, well maintained course w/great greens!
4 Falconhead GC (Austin, TX) there aren't any level holes, great greens, tough, but fair
4 Meadow Springs (Richland, WA) very good golf course, a little pricey if you even can get on!
4 San Ignacio (Green Valley AZ) very good, very fair
3.5 Sonoma Ranch (Las Cruces, NM) fun track to play, medium condition-wise
3.5 Forest Ridge Golf Club (Broken Arrow, OK) I would like to play this one again
3.5 Lakeridge GC (Reno, NV) pretty good layout, not in the best of shape, but it was early in

3.5 The Ridges at Village Creek (near Wynne, AR) Play the East-North combo, Never the West nine!
3 The Atchafalaya at Idlewild (Patterson, LA) good track, sand bunkers NOT in the best of condition
(It's at cha full i ya, like Jumbalaya with an F in front instead of Jumb)
3 Francisco Grande, (Casa Grande, AZ) medium grade for condition, slow greens, but fun
3 Cherokee Valley GC (Olive Branch, MS) tough to rate this course as I played it after heavy rains
3 Canyon Springs GC (San Antonio, TX) this was an add on course due to re-routing, semi-tough
3 Salem GC (Salem, OR) a better summer course, WAY too soggy in the winter/spring
below the recommendation line!
3 Avery Ranch GC (Austin, TX) a bit penal off the tee and not that well maintained
3 Red Hawk GC (Las Cruces NM) great condition & cheap, but too difficult/penal to be fun
2.5 Mission Royale (Casa Grande, AZ) fun layout, would play again if greens are in better condition
Missed out on:
Sunbrook (St. George, UT) or Sky Mountain (Hurricane, UT) heavy rain
Conquistador (Cortez, NM) snow
Sandia (Albuquerque, NM) weather
The Rawls Course (Lubbock, TX) greens just punched!
Bluebonnet Golf Club (Austin, TX) closed due to water dispute w/the city of Austin
The Dogwoods at Hugh White State Park (Grenada, MS) deluge of rain & tornado damage!
