(June 29th) Day 24 – The Brookside Club, Bourne, MA     drove 160 miles

The Brookside Golf Club sits across the Bourne Bridge west of Cape Cod. The golf course was crammed into a small area and the result is a short, tight, almost totally dogleg layout with hardly a level spot on it. There are a few blind shots and it's a good thing I played with people who had been there before. I really didn't like the course, but the maintenance was excellent. I played with a 30 something named Greg and his father, Dan. Dan should have played up a set of tees and maybe Greg wouldn't have given him so much shit. It just wasn't a fun round and not a course I could recommend.

Brookside has 4 sets of tees that range from 6361 to 4542. It is a par 70 golf course, I played the 5871 tees with a course rating of  68.4 and a slope of 129. Green fee & cart came to $ 62.00. I had planned more golf near Cape Cod, but I am ahead of my projected pace by a couple of days and decided to keep it that way.

After golf I headed back to my hotel and tried a Five Guys burger. The burger WAS GOOD, but very over priced in my view.  

I included a picture of the Bourne Bridge built in 1935. It was undergoing a refurbishing when I was there.
